2013 UEFA Women's U-17 Championship

The sixth U-17 Football Championship Women was held in the period from June 25 to 28 2013 Nyon ( Switzerland ). Qualification

The European Championship was held in three stages. In two qualifying rounds, the four participants were identified in the final round.

In the first qualifying round, the 44 teams entered the participants played out in eleven groups of four teams each in the second qualifying round. Austria hit as host of Group 6 to Sweden (2-2 ), Croatia ( 10:0 ) and Azerbaijan ( 4-1) and qualified as the best second-placed team for the next round.

The 11 group winners and five best runners qualified for the second qualifying round. This suffered from the long and snowy winter in Europe, so that games in Belgium and Austria had to be postponed several times. In determining the best runners only the games against the group winners and third parties have been considered. In this case Germany failed in group 1 and was able with a win ( 5-1 against the Netherlands), a defeat ( 1-2 against Denmark) and achieve a draw (0-0 against hosts Belgium) only the third place. In group 2, Austria was exactly as in the first qualifying round hosts, but this time the team finished in third place with a win ( 4-1 against Ireland), a defeat ( 0-2 against Norway) and a draw ( 1-1 against Poland). The Swiss players ended up in last place in their group 4, as they have lost twice ( 0-1 against Sweden and 0-2 against host Czech Republic) and won once (2:1 against Italy )

Best scorer of qualifications was the Dutch Anna Miedema with 18 goals.

Mode

The four group winners of the second qualifying round determined the European champions in the knockout system. The winners of the semifinals reached the final and played the European champions. The losers play for third place. A game lasted regularly twice 40 minutes. Stand it as a draw at the end of normal time, so the decision was right in the penalty shoot without previous extension.
