2013 Welsh Open (snooker)

The BetVictor Welsh Open 2013 was a snooker tournament of Snooker Main Tour, which was held in Newport on 11 to 17 February 2013 Newport Centre. For the first time was BetVictor main sponsor and thus the namesake of the tournament.

Defending champion Ding Junhui was, however, of the semi-final with 5:6 almost failed to Stuart Bingham.

In the final, Stephen Maguire prevailed 9-8 against Bingham, so he won his fifth title at a world ranking tournament.

Purse

The tournament prize money was over the previous year increased from 201,500 to 250,000 British pounds. The winner received 50,000 pounds.

Seeded players who lost their first game, received only half of the points ( in the table in parentheses).

The qualifying matches took place from 6 to 9 February 2013, the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield on 11 February 2013 Newport Centre in Newport instead.
