2013 World Series
In the World Series in 2013 to 109 times the winner of the North American ( U.S. and Canada) Major League Baseball were determined from 23 to 30 October. The best- of-seven series will be played traditionally between the winner of the American League and the champion of the National League.
The road to the World Series

The winners of the American League and the National League were determined between 1 October and 20 October 2013. For this first meeting, the two wild-card winners each other in a game. The three division winners and the winner of the wild-card game found in two Division Series encounters in the best-of -five successive mode ( ALDS or NLDS = American or National League Division Series). Then the winner of the Division Series encounters played in the best- of-seven procedures the respective League Champion ( ALCS and NLCS = American or National League Championship Series ).
For the Boston Red Sox reaching the World Series was especially emotional because the city of Boston was traumatized by the attack on the Boston Marathon a few months earlier.
