2013 World Sprint Speed Skating Championships

The 44th Speed ​​Skating Sprint World Championship was held on 26 and 27 January 2013 American Salt Lake City in Utah Olympic Oval. Salt Lake City was the second time the venue for the Sprint World Championship.

Competition

When Sprint World Championships four routes are run, twice each over a distance of 500 m and 1,000 m, on both days, two routes are ever run. If a sportsman starts on the inner race over a distance on the first day, it starts on the second day to the outer track and vice versa. Only the top 24 men and women after three routes qualify for the fourth line.

The times obtained are converted into points. About 500 m corresponds to the elapsed time of the score, over 1,000 m yields the elapsed time in seconds divided by 2 the score. The athlete with the lowest total score after four routes wins the sprint World Cup.
