2014–15 UEFA Women's Champions League

The UEFA Women's Champions League 2014/15 is the fourteenth playout of the European Champion competition for women's football clubs and the sixth under that name. 54 teams from 46 countries will compete for the title. The competition begins with the first matches of the qualifying round scheduled for August 2014 and ends with the final in Berlin in May 2015.

Participant

At the UEFA Women's Champions League 2014/15 take part in 46 national champion and the runner-up of the eight largest regional associations. For the determination of the strongest eight national associations, UEFA five year ranking will be used. The 14 national champion of the strongest regional associations as well as the eight runners-up will receive a bye and engage only in the Round of the Contest. The remaining national champion must first participate in a qualifying round.

Mode

First, the teams from the 32 lowest-ranked associations play in a qualifying round of ten participants for the main round in which added 22 additional clubs. The matches of the main round up to and including the semi-finals will be played in round-trip games. The team that scores more goals in two games, moves into the next round. Both teams score the same number of goals, decide the number of away goals. Is the number of goals the same, the second leg is extended. Both teams score the same number of goals extension, the away team wins due to the away goals. If no goals are scored, the match will be decided on penalties. The final is decided in a game. A draw initially follows an extension and then, if necessary, a penalty shootout.

Qualification

The eight mini-tournaments are expected to be held in August 2014. To this end, in a lottery, the teams involved will be divided groups, each with four teams, with the exact number of groups depends on the number of participating teams. Each group will host its mini-tournament in another country. The group winners and optionally one or two best-placed runners-up will qualify for the Round of where in the competition engage the seeded teams and the runners-up. In determining the best runners the game against the teams last is not considered.
