2014 African Women's Handball Championship
The 21 Handball African Cup of women took place from 16 to 25 January 2014 in the Algerian capital Algiers instead. Was hosted by the Confédération Africaine de Handball ( CAHB ). Tunisia won his third title.

Participant
With Angola, Tunisia, Algeria and DR Congo the top four teams in the African Cup of Nations 2012 were qualified. Furthermore, the Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Senegal was admitted to the participants due to the placement in the ranking of CAHB of 2013. Ultimately, however, occurred in Guinea, instead of the Ivory Coast.

Preliminary round
The eight participating teams were divided into two four seasons. All teams moved automatically into the main round where they competed according to their preliminary round ranking on the cross.
