Men's singles of the Australian Open 2014.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic was the Serb, who set the record in last year's final against Andy Murray to win the tournament as the first player in the Open Era three times in a row. In the quarterfinals, he met the Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka, against whom he had played in the previous year in the second round and won in the fifth set 12-10. This year we went again to the decisive set, Wawrinka was able to win with 9:7.

For the tournament to announce his rejection of Serb Janko Tipsarevic had due to a chronic heel injury he had suffered in October 2013 at the Valencia Open. In addition, the Austrian Jurgen Melzer took because of a persistent shoulder injury not participate in the tournament. Qualification

The qualification of the Australian Open was held for the men from the 8th to 11th January 2014. Plays were sixteen qualifiers places eligible to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
