2014 Copa Libertadores

The Copa Libertadores 2014, due to the sponsorship also Copa Libertadores Bridgestone, is the 55th playout of the most important South American football competition for club teams. This season, take a total of 38 teams participate, 35 from the ten member associations CONMEBOL, including defending champions Atlético Mineiro from Brazil and the winners of the Copa Sudamericana 2013 CA Lanús from Argentina, and three from Mexico. The tournament is scheduled to begin on 28 January, with the qualifying round and end on August 13, 2014 with the final second leg.

Participating teams

The following teams will participate in the Copa Libertadores 2014. Since the Atlético Mineiro qualify automatically as defending champions, Brazil may send six to the tournament instead of the usual five participants, two had in the qualification. Mexico, which actually belongs to the CONCACAF, will send the invitation to the tournament three teams of two in the qualification must. Mode

Second round

For the second round each of the first and second in each group qualify.

The games are not paired, but determined by a set list. At the eight group winners, the numbers of the second-best win the group according to their ranking awarded 1 to 8, the best group winners, ie 1, 2, etc. The eight group runners-up will receive the start numbers 9 to 16 in the second round then play 1-16, 2 - 15, 3 - 14 ... so the best group first against the worst runners etc.
