2015 Summer Universiade

The Summer Universiade in 2015, officially XXVIII. Summer Universiade will be held in the South Korean city of Gwangju. Around 20,000 students from 170 countries will compete in 21 sports to precious metal.

Application

The cities of Edmonton, Taipei and Gwangju have applied to host the Summer Universiade in 2015. On 23 May 2009, the FISU announced at their meeting in Brussels, Gwangju as the venue. Gwangju had applied in 2013 as the venue.

Competition venues

The Universiade will be held in 37 sports facilities in Gwangju and Umbegung. Most sports facilities will be renovated for the Universiade, two stadiums to be built.
