2015 World Men's Handball Championship

The 24th World Handball Championship for Men will be held in Qatar from 11 to 27 January 2015.

Host

On 27 January 2011 in Malmö was determined by the Council of the International Handball Federation (IHF ) Qatar as the host.

Candidate to host the World Cup were the Handball Federations Norway, Poland, South Korea, Qatar and France. The Handball Association of Qatar had announced his candidacy in December 2010. South Korea had applied to host both the men's World Cup and the Women's World Cup, his candidacy for the men's World Cup but withdrew in early January 2011. Thus in January 2011, four candidates were available.

The Austrian Handball Federation also had a bid for the World Cup 2015 after considering the orientation of the European Handball Championship in 2010, but then expressed its interest to host the Handball World Cup in 2017.

Qualification

At the tournament, 24 teams will take part. Are automatically qualifies Spain as a world champion in 2013 and Qatar as the host.
