2017 World Women's Handball Championship

The 23 Men's Handball World Championship of Women will be held in December 2017 in Germany. A total of 24 teams compete. It is organized by International Handball Federation (IHF ).

Host

The only candidate to host the Games was the German Handball Federation (DHB ). The IHF awarded on December 15, 2011, the hosting of the German Association. Germany was in 1965 and 1997 hosted the World Championships.

Qualification

At the tournament, 24 teams will take part. Automatically qualify are the world champion in 2015 and Germany as host.

Venues

The preliminary round matches will take place in Wetzlar, Stuttgart, Berlin, Flensburg and Leipzig; the finals will be played in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne.
