(203 ) Pompeia is an asteroid of the main asteroid belt, which was discovered on 25 September 1879 by Christian Heinrich Friedrich Peters. The asteroid was named after the Roman city of Pompeii, which was destroyed in 79 AD by the explosion of Vesuvius.

Pompeja moves at a distance of 2.5716 ( perihelion ) to 2.9019 ( aphelion ) astronomical units in 4,528 years of the sun. The orbit is inclined 3.1849 ° to the ecliptic, the orbital eccentricity is 0.0604.
