( 2046 ) Leningrad is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on October 22, 1968 by Tamara Mikhailovna Smirnova at the Crimean Observatory.

The asteroid was named after the second largest city in the former Soviet Union, Leningrad. By 1914 - as now again today - the city was called St. Petersburg, and from 1914 to 1924 Petrograd.
