( 2091 ) Sampo is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on April 26, 1941 by Yrjö Väisälä the Finnish astronomers in Turku.

The name of the asteroid is selected for the magical artifact Sampo, which is mentioned in the Finnish national epic Kalevala. The artifact should, according to legend can create any kind of luck.
