21 Jump Street

21 Jump Street - Tatort classroom (Original Title: 21 Jump Street) is a successful American television series of the late 1980s, which was produced in collaboration by 20th Century Fox Television and LBS Communications for the U.S. broadcaster Fox. The first episode was transmitted on 12 April 1987 in the United States. In Germany, the series first aired in 1990 by RTLplus. A total of 103 episodes were filmed in five seasons from 1987 to 1991. 21 Jump Street is considered to be breakthrough of the then unknown Johnny Depp. After his departure in 1990, a final season was produced, but no longer achieved the desired ratings.

Action

The series is about a group of young officers who have recently graduated from the Police Academy. Due to their youthful appearance they are usually used covered in schools. Typical problems of young people such as heartache, lack of money, drunkenness and drug abuse are often the trigger for the crime. The police, which often occur as new students to gain the confidence of suspects and so cover the cases on. Usually a solution was presented at the end of the episode to the problems of young people. In the subplot was always received on the lives of police officers who are also struggling with various difficulties.

Instrumentation and synchronization

The German synchronization was created by a dialogue book by Jochen Kramer and the dialogue director of Vilm Berger.

Broadcast

In Germany the series from 1990 to 1992 and from 1992 to 1994 or 1995 RTLplus aired on RTL 2 for the first time on German television. There were other reps on the channels RTL 2, TM3, VOX, Tele 5 and more recently at RTL Nitro.

USA / Canada

The DVD series was recently published in the USA and Canada ( Region Code 1) Mill Creek Entertainment. On 19 January 2010, the first season was released on DVD. The seasons two and three each was published on 18 May and 27 July 2010. The fourth season went on sale on January 18, 2011. For the fifth season, there is still no date. The Komplettbox with all five seasons appeared simultaneously with the third season on July 27, 2010.

The series was published for the first time from Anchor Bay Entertainment between 2004 and 2006. It was only the different seasons and no Komplettbox available.

Germany

The DVD series was released in Germany ( Region 2 ) Universum Film. On 15 October 2007 the first season was released on DVD on 26 November 2007, the second. The seasons three, four and five each appeared on 11 February, 12 May and 11 August 2008. Komplettbox with all five seasons was released on 10 November 2008.

Others

The Actress Holly Robinson Peete sang the theme song of the series. Peter DeLuise and Johnny Depp also sang the "jump " in the chorus.

After the success of the series, a spin-off called Booker was produced in 1989, in which Richard Grieco continued the role of Dennis Booker. However, the series was only a moderate success and was canceled after one season.

2012 film of the same was published that ties loosely on the series. The main roles were Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Holly Robinson Peete occurs in a supporting role as Judy Hoffs on, Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise have a cameo.
