21st U-boat Flotilla

The 21 Unterseebootsflottille, short 21 U- Flotilla, was a military unit of the former German Navy in World War II. It was a pure Ausbildungsflottille.

History

The association was set up in 1935 under the name " Association of Schools of submarine school " in Kiel and was under the submarine school. In May 1937 his transfer to Neustadt in Holstein and on 1 November 1937, renamed the " Unterseebootsschulflottille " ( USFl. ) and the insinuation in the first U- Lehr Division (1st ULD).

On July 1, 1940 it was renamed the 21st U- Flotilla and the relocation, with the entire first U- Lehr Division and the Divisions barge Robert Ley in the new vertex pillau. There, the flotilla was stationed until its dissolution in March 1945. Escort ship of the flotilla was from July 1940 to June 1944 the submarine tender ship Donau. From its commissioning in 1940 until June 1941, the workshop Cameroon ship was assigned to the flotilla.
