2243 Lönnrot

( 2243 ) Lönnrot is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 25 September 1941 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä at Turku.

The asteroid is named after the Finnish writer Elias Lönnrot, the orally collected traditional folk and traditional seals on his travels. On the basis of which he wrote the national epic Kalevala.
