( 2456 ) Palamedes is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun. ( 2456 ) Palamedes was discovered on January 30, 1966 by Purple Mountain Observatory.

The asteroid was named after Palamedes, a Greek commander of Greek mythology.
