( 24998 ) Hermite is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on July 28, 1998 by Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory (IAU code 684).

The asteroid is named after the French mathematician Charles Hermite ( 1822-1901 ).
