( 2602 ) Moore is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on January 24, 1982 in Coconino County by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station (IAU code 688 ) of the Lowell Observatory.

The asteroid was named Patrick Moore (1923-2012) after the English amateur astronomer and TV presenter Sir. Moore is the author of over 70 books on astronomy and a member and president of the British Astronomical Association.
