( 2817 ) Perec is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on October 17, 1982 in Coconino County by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station (IAU code 688 ) of the Lowell Observatory.

The asteroid was named after the French writer and filmmaker Georges Perec (1936-1982), a member of the Oulipo group was and is considered one of the most important representatives of French literature after the Second World War.
