( 28729 ) Moivre is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 11 April 2000 by the Italian-American astronomer Paul G. Comba at Prescott Observatory (IAU code 684) in Arizona.
The asteroid is named after the French mathematician Abraham de Moivre (1667-1754) appointed who grappled with the probability theory and was known by the he formulated set of Moivre.
