Eastern Mediterranean

  • Demetrius I Poliorketes, king of Macedonia, subjecting the rebellious Thebes.
  • Lysimachus, king of Thrace, comes at a campaign on the Danube in the captivity of the king getic Dromichaetes. This treated him obliging and let him be free soon thereafter, so as not to jeopardize the relations between the two empires. Dromichaetes then married a daughter of Lysimachus.
  • Antigonus II Gonatas, son and general of Demetrius I tried in vain to use the captivity of Lysimachus to a Macedonian invasion of Thrace; he is thrown back.
