( 29249 ) Hiraizumi is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 26 September 1992 by the Japanese amateur astronomer Tsutomu Seki from Geisei - observatory (IAU code 372) in the prefecture Kōchi.

The asteroid was named after the town of Hiraizumi in the Japanese prefecture of Iwate, which had its heyday in the 12th century as the residence of Ōshū - Fujiwara.
