2,5-dimethoxy -4- methylphenylethylamin ( also abbreviated 2C- D) is a hallucinogen that counts because of its structure to the groups of substances Phenol (also alkyl aryl ethers ), phenethylamines, as well as to the 2Cs. The substance was developed in 1970 by a group of Texas Research Institute of Mental Sciences. The American pharmacologist Alexander Shulgin has subsequently reported the synthesis and effect on the people in his book PiHKAL. 2C- D effect, among others, as a potent agonist of the serotonin receptors 5-HT2A/2C.
