( 3002 ) Dela Salle is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 20 March 1982 by the Belgian astronomer Henri Debehogne at La Silla Observatory (IAU code 809 ) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile.

The asteroid was named after the French priest, educator and Founder Jean Baptiste de La Salle (1651 - 1719) appointed, who founded in 1684 the Order of the Brothers of the Christian Schools ( Frères des Écoles chrétiennes ). As innovations he introduced the teaching in schools and in French instead of Latin.
