( 3007 ) Reaves is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on October 17, 1979 in Coconino County by the American astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station (IAU code 688 ) of the Lowell Observatory.

Was named the asteroid after Gibson Reaves, who works as an astronomer and historian at the University of Southern California. He is an expert in the field of dwarf galaxies.
