(307 ) Nike is one of the main asteroid belt asteroid, which was discovered on March 5, 1891 by Auguste Charlois at Nice Observatory.

It was named after celestial bodies Nike, goddess of victory from Greek mythology. The city of Nice has also been named after Nike.
