311 (Band)

311 (pronounced "three eleven" ) is connecting a crossover band from Omaha, Nebraska, punk with reggae, hip - hop, rock and ska. It was founded in 311 in 1988. The occupation has remained unchanged.

In 1997, the rumor went through the media that 311 for Ku Klux Klan stand because the K of the eleventh letter in the alphabet and is thus " 3K " for " KKK ", ie Ku Klux Klan stand. However, the band denied any connection to their band name with the racist secret society and publicly declared its true meaning: he came from the number of a summons in the Omaha Police due to indecent behavior in public.

My biggest success was her 1996 released album 311 (aka The Blue Album), which received triple platinum.

After the release of Do not Tread on Me followed in 2005 by a longer pause. In June 2009 they released their eighth album Uplifter, which was produced by Bob Rock. It debuted at # 3 on the U.S. charts and was the highest placing so far album of the band. 2011 appeared the album Universal Pulse.
