Events

Empire of Alexander the Great

  • Spring: Polyperchon sends his son Alexander to Athens, keeps to busy to Nicanor, the Munychia to proceed. A little later lands Cassander, however, with 35 ships in Piraeus.
  • Summer: Polyperchon wins the poleis of the Peloponnese for his cause, but fails at the siege of Megalopolis. His Admiral Kleitos is struck shortly after the Battle of Byzantium after initial successes of Antigonus, and Nicanor devastating. Antigonus then turns eastward to fight against Eumenes in Syria. He leaves Cassander dominion over the Aegean Sea.
  • Autumn: Cassander wins Athens, where he uses Demetrios of Phalerum as governor. In Macedonia he prevails and is as regent for Philip III. Arrhidaios recognized. Cassander's rival, Polyperchon, flees, along with Roxane and Philipps five-year co-regent Alexander IV, to Epirus, where he joined forces with Olympias.
  • October: While Cassander resides in the Peloponnese - Sparta built to defend the first city walls -, Olympias and Polyperchon attack with the help of the king of Epirus Aiakides of the Kingdom of Macedonia; the Macedonian army runs over to them.
  • December 25: Olympias makes the insane king of Macedonia, Philip III. Arrhidaios who had fallen into their hands, poison. Philip's wife Eurydice commits suicide.
  • The Diadoche Ptolemy married Berenice in Egypt.

Western Mediterranean

  • Agathocles wins with the help of a mercenary army ( the Mamertines ) in a coup the rule in Syracuse.
  • The Romans conquer the Apulian Forentum; in Lucania they come up before Nerulum.
