Alexander's

  • Alexander the Great reached with his army of Punjab coming the mouth of the Indus, where he led the city Xylenopolis (now Bahmanabad ) is founded. A part of the army returns with a fleet under Nearchus by sea to Babylon back, Alexander himself chooses in August the arduous crossing the desert of Gedrosia and Carmania, which he completed in December, while another military unit under Craterus chooses the northern route through Arachosia.
  • December: Alexander the Great eventually issued Carmania from the so-called " mercenaries decree" and thus ordered his satraps and generals the dissolution of all privately established mercenary troops to suppress the quantity and quality of selfish or even separatist motivated machinations of his subordinates.
