Alexander's

  • January 20: Alexander the Great on his train overcomes the Persian gate, so it is now open the way into the heart of Persia.
  • January 30: the case of Persepolis, the ( unclear whether intentionally or not) is set on fire.
  • June - The Persian king Darius III. leaves Ecbatana before approaching Alexander and fled eastward.
  • July 17: assassination of the Persian king Darius III. (C. 380 BC) in Bactria by Bessus. Bessus declared himself as " Artaxerxes IV " as the successor of Darius. Alexander is now pursuing the murderer of Darius.
  • August: Alexander moves to the east over Hyrcania on the Caspian Sea, then turns toward the South in the province of Aria, where he defeated the local governor Satibarzanes and conquered the city and Artacanoa (now Herat ) neugründet as Alexandria.
