( 3354 ) McNair is one of the main asteroid belt, which was discovered on February 8, 1984 by Edward LG Bowell.

The asteroid was named after the American astronaut Ron McNair, who came as a mission specialist of the Challenger flight STS -51 -L on 28 January 1986 killed. The Space Shuttle was broken apart and crashed shortly after takeoff.
