Eastern Mediterranean

  • Corinthian covenant: all Greek cities (except Sparta ) recognize the Macedonian king Philip II as a hegemon. Macedonia guarantees the autonomy of the Grisons in the context of a general peace; to change the constitution of another state through violent intervention, is prohibited, as feuds or piracy. The highest body of the Federation is the Sanhedrin (the Council ), chaired by the Philip as hegemon. To secure the peace Macedonia puts crews to Thebes, Corinth and Chalcis; Athens must surrender the Chersonese to Macedonia. The war against Persia ( revenge for the destruction of Athens in 480 BC ) was decided.
  • Philip II of Macedon marries the very young Cleopatra, niece of his generals Attalus.
