( 35229 ) Benckert is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 24 March 1995 by the German astronomer frankness Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( observatory code 033) in Thuringia.
The asteroid was on 26 May 2002 after the German court sculptor Johann Peter Benkert ( 1709-1765 ) named the sculptures were created for the Prince-Bishop of Bamberg and from 1746 worked on the decoration of Sanssouci Palace and Park in Potsdam and was a guest host.
