( 35357 ) Harald Lesch is an asteroid of the inner main belt, which was discovered on September 28, 1997 at Stark Castle Observatory in Heppenheim (IAU code 611 ). He was after ( 14080 ) Heppenheim, ( 12053 ) Turtle Star and ( 18567 ) Segenthau the fourth asteroid that was discovered at the amateur observatory ( with stand 2009, there were 58). An unconfirmed sighting (1976 JC4 ) of the asteroid had already given on May 3, 1976 by Hans -Emil Schuster in Chile at La Silla Observatory.

Mean distance from the sun ( semimajor axis), eccentricity and inclination of the orbital plane of the asteroid corresponding to the Flora family, a large group of asteroids that is named after ( 8) flora. Asteroids of this family move in an orbital resonance of 4:9 with the planet Mars around the Sun. The group is also called Ariadne family after the asteroid (43 ) Ariadne.

( 35357 ) was named on 30 March 2010, on a proposal from Tobias Häusler after the German astrophysicist Harald Lesch. On 18 June 2010 was presented Harald Lesch from the observatory a certificate.
