- Migrations: The Visigoths under Fritigern flee from the Huns to the Roman Empire (see Gothic war ( 376-382 ) ).
- Summer: Emperor Valens, Emperor in Constantinople Opel, gives command to let a large group of Goths into the empire. They are located in Thrace ( now Bulgaria ) settle.
