3803 KM

3803 KM is the name of a specific type of transmission towers, which were built from 1954 in many major cities of the Soviet Union. The transmission towers were built in steel truss design and aimed to spread of FM and TV programs.

A 3803 KM is 180 meters high and has 140 meters and 148 meters in height with a platform for recording directional antennas. In Ukraine alone 23 units were built. Many of them are still a prominent landmark of many larger cities in the former Soviet Union. Some of transmission towers were dismantled and rebuilt on another site. It was developed Tower 3803 KM from the State Institute of Steel Construction of the Soviet Union.
