( 3911 ) Otomo is one of the main asteroid belt, by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth at Heidelberg State Observatory king chair ( IAU code 024) was discovered near Heidelberg on 31 August 1940.

The asteroid was named after the Japanese astronomers Satoru Ōtomo (* 1957).
