3C 321

3C 321 is a system consisting of two galaxies. The system was known by a supermassive black hole at the center of one of the two galaxies, which perpendicular to the accretion disk emits a jet due to the mechanisms of matter intake. This jet consists of high- energy gamma rays and particles, which move almost with the speed of light. The jet was discovered by a combined observation of the system with the help of space telescopes Chandra, Spitzer and Hubble; the Very Large Array and the Merlin radio telescope observierten from Earth.
