3rd Academy Awards
The Oscar ceremony on November 1930 was held on November 5, 1930 at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. It was the 3rd Annual Academy Awards. Prizes were awarded films from the period between 1 August 1929 and 31 July 1930. Both the second and also the third ceremony took place in 1930. This compensation has made it possible to honor the films from the previous calendar year in future ceremonies.
For the first time an Oscar in the category " Best Sound " award ( Best Sound Recording).
