3rd Bass

3rd Bass are among the pioneers of hip- hop music and are mainly known as one of the first white bands within the Rapgeschäfts. Together with the Beastie Boys, they procured the white hip hop also the popularity of hip -hop scene.

History

The founding members of 3rd Bass MC Serch were (Michael Berrin ), Pete Nice ( Pete Nash ), and DJ Richie Rich ( Richard Lawson ), with Richie Rich was the only African American of the band. Pete Nice was college student at Columbia University and had its own hip- hop show in college radio. MC Serch came as a rapper in clubs and at parties and had published its own single Hey Boy at the independent label Idlers. The producer Sam Sever brought the members together in 1987 and produced with them their first hit album The Cactus Album ( Label: Def Jam ). 1990 saw Cactus Revisited.

1991 was the last album Derelicts of Dialect with guest appearances by KMD, Chubb Rock and Nice & Smooth on the market. In the play Pop Goes the Weasel of this album, there were also slightly malicious mockery against the then successful white rapper Vanilla Ice, who became the biggest chart success of the band. 3rd Bass cemented her claim to be rooted as white band fixed to the hip-hop, while Vanilla Ice has been exposed as a " cheater ".

MC Serch launched a solo career in 1992 with Return of the Product in which the then relatively unknown Nas in one piece along with other rappers made ​​a guest appearance. Nice and Rich joined to Prime Minister Pete Nice & DJ Daddy Rich together and published in 1993 Dust to Dust. Both albums were indeed less successful than the previous releases of 3rd Bass, but after all, MC Serchs Return of the Product placed at number 28 on the Billboard Top R & B / Hip- Hop Albums charts. Prime Minister Pete Nice and Rich ended up with their album Dust to Dust at number 50 of the Billboard Top R & B / Hip- Hop Albums charts.

In 1998, 3rd Bass reunited and it was released the single Hail To The Chief in 2000. She is currently working on a new album. Prime Minister Pete Nice, published from 2003 to 2006 three books that deal with baseball legends.
