4 Nations Cup
The 4 Nations Cup (until 1999 3 Nations Cup ) is a held annually since 1996, Mrs Hockey Tournament, which is played between the national teams of Canada, the United States, Sweden and Finland. The tournament takes place every year in November.
History
The tournament was first held in 1996 with three teams - Canada, USA, Finland - instead. Sweden was added into use in 2000 as a fourth team. The U.S. took no part in 2001 due to the terrorist attacks on September 11. Since 2002, the tournament will be played continuously with four teams. The record holder is Canada with twelve triumphs.
Mode
The four teams playing first in a single round in the mode -for- everyone. The top two teams then play for gold while the two remaining teams will play for the bronze medal. While the participation of only three teams in the third-place finisher automatically received bronze.
