(40 ) Harmonia is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 31 March 1856 by Hermann Mayer Salomon Goldschmidt.
The asteroid is named after the Greek goddess of harmony Harmonia, daughter of Ares and Aphrodite.
Harmonia has a diameter of about 110 kilometers. In 8 hours and 55 minutes, it rotates around its own axis. It has a relatively bright silicate-containing surface with an albedo of 0.242.
