40-Meter-Band

As a 40 - meter band is defined as the frequency range of 7.0 MHz to 7.5 MHz. It is located in the shortwave spectrum. The name is derived from the approximate wavelength of this frequency range.

Propagation conditions

This tape allows for both long distance connections (DX) from late afternoon until early morning as well as short-range links using NVIS during the day, especially in times of high solar activity. Due to the good - albeit through the D- layer daytime muted - propagation conditions also called " Europe -band."
