( 4138 ) Calchas is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun. ( 4138 ) Calchas was discovered on September 19, 1973 by Cornelis Johannes van Houten, Ingrid van Houten - Groeneveld and Tom Gehrels. He is associated with the Lagrangian point L4.
Was named the asteroid after Calchas, the mythical seer of the Greeks during the Trojan War.
