( 4216 ) Neunkirchen is a main belt asteroid that was discovered on January 14, 1988 by Henri Debehogne from the La Silla observatory.

The asteroid is named after the town of Neunkirchen in Austria. Neunkirchen is the birthplace of two Austrian astronomer Hermann Haupt and Gerhard Hahn.
