(4425) Bilk

( 4425 ) Bilk is a main belt asteroid that was discovered by the Hamburg Observatory astronomer Luboš Kohoutek from the Czech on 30 October 1967.

The asteroid was named after Bilk, a suburb of Dusseldorf. In Bilk in 1843 by Johann Friedrich Benz mountain was set up the private observatory Dusseldorf, which passed into the possession of the city of Dusseldorf after his death. From this observatory discovered from Karl Theodor Robert Luther from 1852 to 1890 a total of 24 asteroids. The observatory was destroyed in 1943 during a bombing raid.
