( 4816 ) Connelly is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered by U.S. astronomer Edward LG Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station (IAU code 688 ) of the Lowell Observatory in Coconino County on August 3, 1981.
The asteroid was named after the American mathematician Robert Connelly ( b. 1942 ) named, which is since 1969 Professor at Cornell University and gave his work an important basis for astrometry and imaging of asteroids with radar.
