( 4827 ) Dares is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun. ( 4827 ) Dares was discovered on August 17, 1988 by the American astronomer Jean Carolyn Spellman Shoemaker. He is associated with the Lagrangian point L5.

It is named after the asteroid Dares Phrygius, the famous author of a person no closer than late-antique Latin representation of the Trojan War.
